Do you file my LLC for me?
No. Plum Packet is not a filing service. You file the Certificate of Formation yourself on the State portal (or by a method DORES currently accepts). You file NJ-REG and the annual report yourself. The kit tells you which official URLs to use.

What does New Jersey actually charge to form an LLC?
The official Certificate of Formation fee posted by DORES is $100.00 for a domestic for-profit LLC. Sources: the DORES Registry Fee Schedules (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/revenue/fees.shtml) and Getting Registered (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/revenue/gettingregistered.shtml, last updated 07/01/26 — “The fee is $100 for all for-profit entities”).

Many commercial websites still say $125. That was the common figure through June 2026. A 2026 fee reduction brought the posted amount to $100. Verify the live amount on the official portal at checkout. Portal processing charges (credit card / eCheck) may be added; confirm those at checkout too. Plum Packet does not collect the State fee.

What about the annual report?
Every New Jersey LLC must file an annual report. The statutory fee posted as of August 26, 2026 is $75.00, plus a portal processing charge ($3.00 card or $0.50 eCheck on the official FAQ). Business.NJ.gov says the report is due every year on the last day of the month in which you completed formation. Example: formed March 12 → treat March 31 as the due date. The kit flags that you should confirm the first-year due date in the portal after you have an Entity ID. Two consecutive missed years can put a domestic LLC on the inactive list and free the name for someone else. File at https://www.njportal.com/DOR/annualreports/. Private “reminder” mailers are not the State.

Do I have to publish in a newspaper?
No. New Jersey does not require newspaper publication to form an LLC. Optional publication exists only as a claims-bar tool after dissolution. If someone sells you a “required NJ LLC publication,” they are not describing current formation law.

Single-member or multi-member — which agreement do I use?
One owner: the single-member template. Two or more owners, member-managed: the multi-member template. The multi-member template overrides RULLCA defaults of equal per-member voting and equal per-member distributions; it uses percentage interests instead. If you want a manager-managed company, this kit is the wrong product.

Will this kit get me an EIN and a Business Registration Certificate?
It tells you the official IRS EIN page (free) and the official NJ-REG portal. You apply. Do not pay a third-party site for an EIN. The IRS currently tells you to form the LLC with the State before applying for an EIN; DORES’s Getting Registered page still lists EIN before formation. The kit explains that conflict and the sequence it uses.

Can I use this if I already formed the LLC?
Yes, for the operating-agreement templates and the annual-report notes. Match the legal name and Entity ID to the filed certificate. Do not file the operating agreement with DORES.
